Dorothy Day She was a mother, a pacifist, a nurse, a suffragist, and a journalist. She never grew tired of denouncing the injustices she witnessed. In her search for a just society, she discovered the Catholic church’s commitment to the poor and the immigrants, and she converted to Catholicism. Rooted in prayer and putting her faith into action, Dorothy Day is remembered by her hospitality, and the Catholic Worker Movement which she co-founded with Peter Maurin.
