Who are the Claretians?

The Claretians are a Roman Catholic congregation of priests and brothers. We are dedicated to seeing the world through the eyes of the poor and to improving the world from these same communities. Our primary ministries in the U.S. are:

  • Preaching and living God’s Word, especially through parish ministry;
  • Community development programs within high-poverty, urban communities;
  • Publishing materials to support leadership development in the Catholic Church and to help Catholics live their faith in the U.S. today; and
  • Fostering and maintaining a devotion to St. Jude, Patron Saint of Hope, throughout the U.S.

    • For us, each parish is very much the heart of where the community gathers to live and celebrate the Gospel. We tackle the rough realities of the poor in the U.S. including hunger, poverty, violence, housing, parenting, and education. We work with strength from the inspiration and power of God’s Word.
